2014

2014 Yearly  Update

Greetings from the Miller family! I retired at the end of 2012 after practicing plastic surgery  in Fayetteville for twenty-five years! Our family time continues to be a priority. Our family trips this year included spending time with Will & Jo in January 2014 & in China for Will & Jo’s Wedding May/June. We helped move Victoria & her husband to Alabama. This Fall we had a USA party for Will & Jo & NC State Fair including getting our picture button made, Society of the Cincinnati in Washington DC.

I hit my 58th birthday this past February and completed the DisneyWorld Half-Marathon with Beth in January. It’s always a blast running under Cinderella’s Castle that I’ve done 5 times now. Beth, Hannah & David Newman and I  ran the Disneyland Half-Marathon out in California August 31st, 2014.

Beth & I both went down to Peru with the high school senior class of Fayetteville Christian in Feb/March of 2014. We worked at an orphanage in the Andes Mountains at 8,600 feet including a building project. After the mission trip, Beth & I traveled on to Machu Picchu and climbed Huayna Picchu.

Will (28) graduated UNC-Chapel Hill Phi Beta Kappa in 2009 and moved to China! He married the lovely Mengjie Zhou May 31st. He is the Operations Manager with Haiku/Hatsune, a restaurant corporation he had interned with in 2008. He now speaks Chinese! He and Jo have come home for Christmas 2013/early January 2014, and a month in October/November. So now we have been blessed with three daughters and  two sons!

Victoria & Colin Campbell (both now 24) have moved to Montgomery, Alabama, where he accepted a one year clerkship with one of the Supreme Court Justices.  Victoria substitue teaches Elementary Education at Montgomery Academy. Colin graduated Liberty University  law school in May and passed the NC Bar!!!

Shelby turned 21 this November! She is our other world traveler having gone to Australia one summer, Germany to spend time with our German exchange daughter, Janina and Kenya, Africa to work with our missionary physical therapy friend last summer 2013.  She is enjoying her junior year at UNC-Chapel Hill. She pledged Pi Phi Sorority last year and loves it. She is a pre-Physical Therapy student with a second major in religion. She is also working at her local church.

Toby, our snow-white Maltese and our barn cat, Comet still rule the roost this past year.  We still have horse,  Patrick, who lives in Louisville, Kentucky. We sold George to a nice Amish family to be used to pull their carriage.

May you all have a blessed upcoming 2015 and let our paths cross again soon!

Mark, Beth, Will V, Jo, Victoria, Colin, Shelby
